A Home-from-home environment.

Our environment builds on the learning experiences babies already have within the home, supporting development through familiar routines, natural materials and unhurried exploration.

Who will care for your baby?
Esme - Baby room Leader:
I have worked in childcare for 5 years and I love seeing children happy, offering cuddles and creating a safe environment where they can thrive.
My favourite activities include gloop, the mud kitchen and water play.
My perfect day at Little Robins would include singing nursery rhymes, enjoying time outdoors (especially walks to see the ducks), sharing stories and exploring new textures through messy play.
Belinda - Nursery Practitioner:
I have worked in childcare for 38 years and absolutely love every part of it.
I love seeing the children begin their nursery journey and watching them grow into their own unique personalities over time. My favourite activities include messy play, mixing paints and exploring different textures with the children.
My perfect day at Little Robins’ would include lots of outdoor play and adventures in the fresh air, rain or shine!
Lilly - Nursery Practitioner:
I have worked in childcare for 3 years and love being part of children’s learning and development every day.
One of my favourite things is watching the children learn new things and use their creativity and imagination during play. I especially enjoy messy play activities and seeing the children explore their own ideas and curiosity.
My perfect day at Little Robins’ would include outdoor adventures, exploring nature and lots of exciting messy play activities!
Individual Care and Routines:
We recognise that every baby is unique. In our Nestlings room, care routines are led by each child’s individual needs, ensuring they feel secure, understood and supported throughout the day.
- Babies follow their own individual routines for sleep, feeds and care;
- Formula feeding is fully supported, with expressed breast milk welcomed in line with nursery procedures;
- Developmentally appropriate food is offered when babies are ready, in partnership with parents;
- Babies sleep when they are tired, supported by a calm, responsive approach;
- Care routines are unhurried, reassuring and guided by each baby’s cues.
Learning and Development:
Learning in the Nestlings room is rooted in everyday experiences, relationships and play. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) in a way that is responsive, age-appropriate and led by each baby’s interests.
Our experienced practitioners support babies’ development through:
- Strong key person relationships and secure attachments;
- Early communication, including talking through care routines and responding to babies’ sounds and gestures;
- Sensory exploration using natural and everyday materials;
- Physical development through floor-based play and early movement;
- Singing, rhymes and shared stories to build early language;
- Careful observation, following each baby’s interests and developmental stage.
Outdoor Experiences and Nursery Life:
We believe that time spent outdoors is an important part of babies’ early experiences. In the Nestlings room, outdoor opportunities are thoughtfully planned to support wellbeing, curiosity and gentle exploration.
They will benefit from:
- Regular access to fresh air and outdoor spaces;
Outdoor sensory experiences offered in a calm, age-appropriate way; - Opportunities for short walks in pushchairs;
Gentle opportunities to see and hear older children, supporting familiarity and a sense of belonging; - Seasonal experiences and routines that follow each baby’s pace and comfort.
